At the heart of our school's mission is a deep commitment to love God above all things, guiding every aspect of our learning and growth. We believe in learning together as a community, nurturing a spirit of unity and shared purpose. By loving ourselves, we honour the unique gifts God has given each of us, and by loving each other and all people, we build a foundation of respect, compassion, and inclusivity. Embracing life with gratitude and joy, we strive for excellence in all that we do—not for recognition, but as a response to the blessings we have received. In everything, we aim to grow into the fullness of who we are called to be, offering our best as a reflection of God’s love.
Led by our House Captains, children from Reception to Year 6 explored our school mission statement and expressed its meaning through creative artwork. Their thoughtful interpretations are proudly displayed throughout the school and can also be viewed above.
Our school behaviour policy is firmly grounded in our mission and the principle of "striving for excellence." It encourages pupils to uphold the values of respect, responsibility, and kindness, while continually aiming to grow and improve in all aspects of their behaviour, both inside and outside the classroom.
The tagline "I am a St Mary’s child and I strive for excellence" is a simple yet powerful reflection of our school’s mission. It captures the essence of our shared commitment to love God above all things by using our God-given gifts to the fullest. Striving for excellence is not just about academic success—it’s about growing in love for ourselves, each other, and all people; it’s about embracing life with purpose and joy. This personal declaration by each child shows that they understand their role in living out the mission daily, taking ownership of their growth and aiming to become the best version of themselves in all they do.
